Skills based Interviewing
As name suggests,
this style of interviewing focuses on particular
skills that will be required for the role. |
These may
be technical skills, or general skills (for
example project management, staff supervision
etc). |
The ideal way of
preparing for such an interview is to thoroughly
review your resume, concentrating on thinking
of examples you can provide for the skills you
have. For example, be prepared to talk about how
you used your various technical skills, and your
depth of experience with them. |
If the questions are
geared toward more general skills, think
of examples that show how you used these
skills. For example, if the role requires
strong project management skills, be prepared
to discuss a particular project that you
managed. |
