BLUEFIN RESOURCES REMAINS BEST PLACE TO WORK - 23 June 2011
Bluefin Resources, has ranked 23rd on BRW's prestigious Best Places to Work list 2011, a catalogue of the 50 best employers nationally.
The BRW Best Places to Work Awards are widely acclaimed in Australia. Based on one of the world's most comprehensive studies of workplace culture, The Great Place to Work Institute Australia, the quality of this year's BRW Top 50 Best Places to Work was higher than ever. It was these businesses who broke out from the rest of the pack during challenging times to retain a loyal, happy and engaged workforce.
Bluefin Resources was founded in 2003 by James Hone, offering staffing recruitment solutions in the specialist Technology, Data Analytics, Risk Management, Marketing, Market Research, Investment & Wealth Management, Consumer & Commercial Lending and Project Services markets.
Mr Hone brought his significant consulting experience earned from one of the top six recruitment agencies worldwide, and embarked on building his own company. He named Bluefin Resources after his lifelong passion for fishing and likens the skill and dedication to catching an elusive 'Bluefin' out at sea to the same perseverance required sourcing the best candidates from the talent pool.
Mr Hone started the business from a home-based office with two employees and today has over 45 employees with a head-office in Sydney's CBD.
Bluefin Resources makes the Best Places to Work list for a second year in a row.
"Our place for a second time in BRW's Top 50 places to work solidifies that what we do works for our people and our clients. Bluefin Resources espouses a fun working environment with a work/life balance and no tie policy. The business focus is on quality rather than quantity," Mr Hone said.
He adds that treating people (staff, suppliers, clients and candidates) the way you would want to be treated is critical in creating a great place to work and reflects in one of Bluefin's 5 values - We are Equal.
Bluefin Resources has just spent the last 12 months recruiting several experienced specialists to expand its office in Sydney, open new offices in Melbourne and Singapore, increase its specialist markets and focus on a new recruitment model.
"Bluefin has re-engineered its recruitment process including a review of its specialist candidate database which will benefit clients from faster response time, better quality candidates and access to up-to-date salary information.
"Already as a market leader in the sectors we operate, this new process will increase Bluefin's market share and elevate our level of service to both clients and candidates," Mr Hone said. |

BLUEFIN RESOURCES, NO.1 RECRUITMENT AGENCY TO WORK FOR IN AUSTRALIA - 1 July 2010
Bluefin Resources was ranked 29th place in the 2010 BRW Best Places to Work survey - the highest ranked recruitment company in Australia.
BRW's Top 50 Great Places to Work list was based on research conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute, Australia which surveyed more than 15,000 employees.
The magazine said there was a common theme at all the Top 50 companies - perks. "It's not just the perks that make the difference" to employees, said Sean Aylmer, editor -in-chief of BRW, although a number of the employers offered benefits as wide ranging as free iPods, free donuts, or subsidies on further education. "The top quality is the transparency and the trust factors," he said.
The list includes a mix of large and small companies. 29 local companies made the list while 19 were Australian branches of multinational companies. Companies are appraised by their own employees and the survey audits company culture and the sense of trust that employees have for their employer, measuring such qualities as company policy, procedures, credibility and fairness.
